The ideal combination: cutting and fiber laser cutting

The trend in manufacturing is to make components that are lighter in weight, use less material, conserve resources and integrate functionality. As such, customers are working with thinner sheet structures. Boschert has expanded its successful “Combi” series of machines to include fiber laser. In close cooperation with our partner, Kjellberg Finsterwalde, Boschert has added the Kjellberg Xfocus fiber laser to its CNC punching line. The CombiLaser series is available with working ranges from 1000 x 2000mm to 1500 x 3000mm. Now customers can produce complex parts on a single machine without repositioning.

Flexibility at its finest.
The Boschert CombiLaser combines the advantages of high quality laser cutting with the unique features of CNC punching. In the past, complex contours could only be cut on a flat sheet laser. Operations such as forming, beading, trimming and threading required a separate CNC punch.

Now Boschert introduces the CombiLaser, combining the best qualities of both operations. Boschert’s fiber laser system can be mounted to any of Boschert’s standard line of CNC punching machines, which allows the customer to purchase the machine that best matches their requirements.

Fiber Laser
Fiber lasers belong to the group of solid-state lasers. The doped core of a glass fiber forms the active medium in a fiber laser. The laser radiation which is passed through the laser-active fiber, due to the large length experiences a very high gain. With a wavelength of 1,070 nm fiber lasers achieve an extremely small focal diameters, reducing their intensity may be up to 100 times higher than for CO2 lasers with the same medium dispensed power. Fiber lasers are basically maintenance-free and are characterised by their long service life.

Programmable disposal of small parts:
Small components and parts cut on the fiber laser can be quickly ejected from the working surface via a small parts chute. Arranged in front of the fiber laser, the small parts chute tilts 30 ° and is operated by pneumatic cylinders. Two chutes sizes are capable of work pieces up to 150×150 mm and 700×700 mm are standard on the CombiLaser.

Safety & Security
Boschert has developed a security concept for the fiber laser in cooperation with the BG professional association. Optionally the machine can be also equipped with a sight protection device.

Quick, precise and productive

Economical precision stamping machines, nibbling and transforming in one  heavy-duty-machine – with the new punching machine MULTIPUNCH  1250 x 2000 CNC Z  completes Boschert his delivery and performance program within the range of punching machines. Accordingly the wish of many customers and higher market requirement indeed the complete treatment of metal sheets in only one working off cycle, has been a new tooling system  developed which consists of 8 stations for the admission of tooling system Trumpf. With it and included stepless indexable toolings are totally 64 toolings available and this might be more than enough for most of the sheet metal working. In addition is it possible to pre-adjust toolings for different sheets or for partial sheets by what the reequip expenditure will be to zero in case of instance of repetition.

With the experience of more than 3000 delivered punching machines all over the world and the supplement of the new tool changer represent the Multipunch 1250 x 2500 CNC Z an universal and flexible punching machine for overcoming the different functions of sheet metal forming: accuracy punching, nibbling, forming.
The size of the sheet panels can have the dimension of 1250 x 2500mm and depending on the material for 4 mm stainless steel 6 mm mild steel or 8 mm aluminium. Due to the stepless adjustment of the clamps may the sheet panels or pre-cut parts of all  sizes be clamped, fixed and carried at discretion.

An additional repositioning with two sheet hold down allows the complete working off the border so that at optimal nesting respectively utilisation of the sheet does not become waste. The combination of simple and rapid sheet-metal part handling as well as the split second changing of the tooling reduces the non-productive downtime to a minimum and conduct per time unit / shift to longer machine useful life.

The tool changer can have all relevant punching, nibbling and forming tool system Trumpf as well as the other Boschert punching machines have and so it it possible for the user to take the existing toolings and need not to provide new ones. The programming and handling of the machine is very easy with the Labod dialogue control. Furthermore the Multipunch is equipped with an automatic small parts chute for sheets up to 300 x 200mm so that the manual sampling of finished parts is inapplicable and the working-off will not be broken at any time. The setting-up of the toolings is because of the changeable cassettes also very easy. At last belongs an automatic tool lubrication and a vacuum slug removal to the standard equipment whereby nothing is in the way of the continuous sheet-metal part production.

Tough and flexible, the real alternative

The TWIN/TRI series machines are equipped, respectively with two or three independent punch heads. Either series can be equipped with Revotool, Boschert‘s multi-tool solution. Up to 16 tools in the TWIN series and up to 24 tools in the TRI series allow the working of complex parts without tool change.  A distinct advantage of all Boschert  CNC punching machines is the user-friendly software. The heavyduty, open C-frame design allows turning of oversized sheets. The powerful software suggests options for automatic repositioning and turning/flipping of large parts.

Rotation Index

One of the heads in either series machine can be equipped with full 360 stepless rotation of all tools up to 105 mm in diameter. Designed especially for rotation machines, a 7-position Revotool includes a 5mm x 30mm parting tool thus allowing contouring, shaker parts, etc. In addition to the slitting tool, 6 positions with a maximum diameter of 16 mm are accommodated.

Makes complex parts a breeze

Stepless 360 degree rotation of all tools up to 105 mm diameter using brushless DC motors and pneumatic indexing of Revotools. The 7-way Revotool was especially constructed for this model. In addition to 6 tools with a diameter of 16 mm each, with a slitting tool of 5 x 30 mm it is possible to punch nearly every contour, allowing complete processing of the sheet without changing tools.

All ECCO Line machines are equipped with 28 t punching pressure (40 t on request) and Trumpf Tooling system.

Tooling system

The worldwide approved Trumpf tooling system is used on the ECCO Line (other systems on request, e.g. Amada, Rainer, XX28). The tool is put directly into the tool holder without an intermediate case. Through the large propagation of the Trumpf tooling, the machine is virtually always ready for operation.
7 seconds. The largest tool diameter is 105 mm (4″). Besides a wide range of standard toos, it is possible to manufacture arbitrary tool within the range of 105 mm diameter. The metal loss from sharpening will be compensated through changes of the punch stroke length. Exact alignment of cutting tools with ridig clamping ensures long tool life. It also enables the use of angled Whisper-Tools which can achieve a noise reduction of up to 50%.
